Quick Tutorial: Getting started, launching applications

Call Dash. Start typing the name of your application. Press Enter and Dash will launch your application!

Detailed Explanation

Call Dash by pressing the hotkey. By default, the Dash hotkey is Win + - (Windows key + Dash key). If you set a different hotkey use that one. If you can’t remember the hotkey you set, click on the Dash icon on the traybar and the menu will show the current hotkey next to "Show Bar". If you need to change the hotkey, click on Options and go to the preferences bar.

Now, just start typing the name of your application, in this case "paint". Dash will attempt to figure out what you want, if there are several options you can use the arrow keys to scroll down or continue typing to narrow your search.

Once you have selected the correct application, just press Enter and Dash will launch your application.
