> We removed the Set Skin button from the skin selection
> panel, now the skin you click on is automatically applied.

Would you consider removing the 'Set Key' button from the "Interface" page as well? It's very confusing. So is the 'Save Changes' button on the "Scanners" page. In both cases I kept looking for an 'OK' button on the dialog, not finding one, clicking 'Close' instead, and wondering why none of my changes were saved!

I agree, this seems very good.

I have a small suggestion for 0.95.1, though. When invoking IPConfig, the message box can be removed with ESC, but the text can not be scrolled with the arrow keys. You have to click in the text area with the mouse to be able to scroll with the keys. but then it is not possible to use ESC anymore..

It would be great if that could be fixed, since it is not nice to have to use the mouse in the middle of dash usage...

Wow, fantastic update. The new text matching is great and using Google suggest just makes that feature perfect. Congrats!

Looks good.

One thing:
I cannot set the proxy server; the settings won't save when I leave the dialog, so the translate command won't work for me.

Admin Speaking,

I want to answer a few questions.

1. Unrestricted Trial: The next update we make to the trial version is going to be non-restricted, so that everyone can test all the features in Dash. We don't have a set date yet, but I suspect it will be coming out around the end of Sept. or beginning of Oct.

2. Comparison with Launchers: Launching is just a very small fraction of what Dash can do. We made the mistake of limiting the trial functions so that only the program launching capabilities are exposed, but the new trial will show all of what Dash is capable of, which goes beyond launching.

3. Text Search: We have implemented an additional non-contiguous text matching algorithm for those used to it.

4. Price and Licensing: The $50 price is still being debated and under consideration, there is a big chance we will change it when we end the pre-release phase. Each Dash purchase has 4 licenses so you can install Dash in 4 different machines with a single purchase. Reinstallations do not use up another license. The purchase covers all updates for 1.x

5. Outlook, Phone, etc.: We are constantly adding more features to Dash so better Outlook integration and Skype integration have been added to our list.

Looks promising, and I like the low memory requirements. One big show-stopper for me, though, is the completion matching. I've used Launchy and AppRocket, as well as Quicksilver on the Mac, and I'm too used to abbreviating IE for Internet Explorer and FF for Firefox. Dash doesn't seem to allow abbreviations to skip letters.

I'd also like to know the answer to the earlier licensing question. A launcher is a handy utility, but not an essential application for getting my work done. $50 seems awfully steep (compare to Enso Launcher at $19.95 long-term price) for all my computers, and I certainly wouldn't pay that for EACH computer.

I really, really like it (the ideal of it I mean). But I agree, I need a trial that gives me more than what launchy does for free.

Questions I have;

1. How does the lic. work? If I do a reinstall do I have to use another one of my 3? Or can I use the same code?

2. Will my purchase support any upgrades past 1.0?

3. "Any chance that Dash could have a ‘Phone’ command (with the ability to dial?)" ala skype?

4. Any idea when the "non-cripple" version of the trial will be out?

Great piece of software. Tried Launchy but couldn't get on with it, so I've been using Google Desktop for launching programs. Now, I'll always launch with Dash.

One thing I need more than anything is a quick search of my Outlook contacts (not Outlook Express) for phone numbers. Within OUtlook it's clunky and in G Desktop it requires drilling down through a couple of screens. Any chance that Dash could have a 'Phone' command (with the ability to dial?)
